Someone I follow here on tumblr - I can’t remember who it was - recently mentioned that people in the South sprinkle salt on their watermelon.
I was skeptical at first - much like I was when I heard people drizzle balsamic vinegar over strawberries - but I am eating some right now, and it is absolutely delicious.

Hell yeah salt on a watermellon. LOOOOOOOZIANA!
also…to geek out a bit. the salt makes the watermellon taste better because the salts open sodium ion channels on your tongue, making the weak flavor of a watermellon more pungent.
